The four main characters collectively known as 'belt', the shows namesake, appear in every episode they consist of:

- Frankie R. Price (19): Is the youngest member of belt and is often referred to as Frank by other characters. In later seasons Frankie got a job at the local Tesco and drives a car called plank.

- Evie M. Tipper (20): The oldest member of belt and sometimes referred to as big Shaz or simply Shaz. Evie currently lives in Liverpool and is studying media.

- Cathy L. Abarrow (19): The second youngest member of belt who is often referred to as Cath. Cathy currently lives in Birmingham and studies nursing, she drives a car named clank (although not at the moment as he lives in the family home back in Poole). 

- Cherri L. Cox (20): The second oldest member of belt who is sometimes referred to as shag dog (due to a popular Instagram account). Cherri currently lives in Colchester and does American Studies.
